my tongue is still a bit swollen. eating seems to help the swelling go down, although it's still rather difficult. takes all the pleasure out of eating when it hurts. oh well, i can put up with it to beautify my body. probably only one more whole day before it starts to get back to normal.
the swelling seems to be very local to the new piercing. i started out with two long barbells (20mm long each), but by the afternoon i was able to change my first tongue hole down to my 13mm barbell with no probs. by tomorrow i might be able to go all the way down to my 11mm barbell. that'd be cool. i think the second tongue hole will always need a longer barbell though as it's further toward the back where the tongue is thicker. once all the swelling has gone i might be able to keep a 16mm or 13mm barbell in the back & an 11mm in the front.
