on-dray-ya - 08:00 AM
we went to my mum & dad's for dinner last night to meet a german girl, andrea (the german pronounciation is 'on-dray-ya'), who's staying with them. she's just younger than me, twenty-five if i remember correctly. she's pretty cool. we laughed at a lot of the same stuff & we got along pretty well. i showed her my websites & my piercings etc. she seemed a little surprised at the piercings, i think. shroom & i will probably take her out one night to see a band or something.
she's in australia for about a year to work at my dad's computer shop. in germany she's done a four year apprenticeship in computing (the tech side of computing) & she'd been to australia on holiday before so i guess she thought coming here to work for a year would be cool. she'll be finding a place of her own to share with someone her own age soon.
she's done well coping with my dad. hehe. i love my dad but i know that some people are a little wary of him. he's a wonderful man, very sweet & caring, generous, etc, but sometimes he can be downright weird. makes really bad jokes that just aren't funny & goes off about stuff that he's passionate about. i'm used to him because he's my dad but some people just don't know how to take him. in fact, i hate to admit it, but i take after him a lot. how embarrassing.
