car problems x 2 - 09:40 PM
wow .. & i don't mean that in a good way. okay, let me tell you some of the things that have been going on over the past few days.
last friday, i was driving shroom's car to a doctor's appointment (nothing serious, just a cold) & on the way back there was a noise that sounded like part of the engine fell off. it turns out that's exactly what happened. 
the timing chain came through the front of the engine. there were big pieces of metal sitting in the bottom of the engine bay. this is not a good thing. so his car's been in at the mechanic's since then. that's probably going to be very expensive.
so we have the other car (my car) which shroom's been driving to & from work (about an hour each way). today i went in with him to see the guy that i'm doing some work for. on the way back home tonight it was making funny noises & losing power & then when i pulled over to the side of the highway it just stopped. it wouldn't start again. we were still about a forty minute drive away from home. we had to get it towed to a mechanic nearby (where hopefully it'll be fixed tomorrow). shroom's lovely parent's came all the way out there to pick us up & not only that, but since we have no car now his mum's going to drive him to work tomorrow even though he has to start at 5am! that means over two hours of driving for her & she has to get up at about 3:30am! so we now have no cars & it's probably going to cost lots & lots of money to get them both back on the road. major bummer things happening lately. major, major bummer.
