birthday & job - 08:15 AM
i've been playing around with some ideas for a new look for my site even though i won't actually be changing the look that i have now. i'm very happy with what i have for the moment, it's nice & clean & i really like the colours .. pretty. i'm playing because it's good practice for trying out different looks for when i have to do somebody's site from scratch. i should probably practise using dreamweaver but my evaluation version has run out. i guess i could download another one under a different name. hmm, i'd love to get a real copy but software is so expensive. i will one day, but only when i'm able to pay for it myself. my darling man is wonderful & provides me with everything that i could ever want or need but i don't like to ask for too much. he's generous enough.
yesterday i picked up my man's birthday present. i can't say here what it is because i'm not sure how often he reads this & his birthday isn't until the 8th of july so i don't want to spoil the surprise. i was actually able to pay for it myself (which was very nice) because a while ago i won some money in an online competition (just a random draw, i think). the guy who was running the competition ended up just sending me an american $50 bill all wrapped up in paper. i guess it was too much hassle to do a postal order internationally, etc, etc. fine with me. i got just over $81 (minus a $5 transaction fee) because the australian dollar is really crappy at the moment. worked out well for me! anyway, how silly would it have been to go to my darling man & say "hey honey, can i borrow some money from you so i can buy you a birthday present?"
later the same day ..
woo hoo!! i knew i'd get it! i went for an interview the other day for a casual job at the local service station (petrol station) & the guy just called to say that i got it! it's not much, i know, but it'll help with paying the bills & it'll fill in the time that i'm not doing web stuff for the guy down the coast. it's about time that i started being able to contribute financially. i didn't mention the job interview here in case my sweet heart read about it. i wanted it to be a surprise when i got the job, you see. alriiight!
