comedy, pubs & doggie school - 05:05 PM
i've had such a great weekend!
friday night shroom & i went out to a comedy club restaurant at the gold coast with some people from his work. it was a riot, the comedians were so very funny! of course, some of the jokes were a little off-colour & some serious language (i mean bad language) was used but it seems to come with the territory when it comes to that sort of comedy venue. the whole tone of the evening though was very light & relaxed & the comedians did a fantastic job. dinner was pretty good too. obviously the food is not the focus of the place so it wasn't the best feature but it was still good.
last night we went to a pub/club place with some friends of ours (mungbean, ryan & ryan's brother tubby) to celebrate tubby's birthday. he turned twenty-three today so we asked the band to announce his birthday after midnight clicked over. it was a small group (only five of us) but it was really fun. we had a great night! we went back to their place afterwards to have a cup of coffee (or tea) & a chat. ended up getting back home around 1:30am & after winding down a bit i was in bed by 2:30am. nice late night to be all bright eyed & bushy tailed (not!) to go to ..
.. doggie school at 8am. mcgarnicle the magic dog did very well again. that is, after he settled down from chucking a tanty about ten minutes into class!! it was so funny! it was just like a two year old chucking a tantrum. he was throwing himself around in the air & on the ground & making this really weird squealing noise. i've never seen him go off like that before. it was seriously funny! (hmm, there's an oxymoron if i've ever seen one .. anyway.) he's gotten a little out of control before (running around & being silly) but i've never seen him throw a tantrum like that. the trainer guy just kind of held the lead & calmly took control until he settled down. he was a little skittish up to that point, but then i guess he realised that he wasn't going to get away with it anymore so he settled down & was a really good boy.
mum & dad came to visit just before. what a nice surprise! after all the hassles that i've been having with my parents over the past six months or so, it seems they actually listened to me. not only listened but heard if you know what i mean. they were visiting my sister & brother-in-law & the babies so mum called from there to see if we were here so they could drop around on the way home for a quick visit. i was pleasantly surprised when she suggested that. anyway, they arrived (after we ran around cleaning up the house!) & stayed for about half an hour. it was really nice. i showed them a couple of things that mcgarnicle had learned & he performed very well for the visitors. i think he might have been showing off .. hehe. 
yep .. i've had a really good weekend.
