i visited my sister & her two babies today. it must have been way too long since my last visit because little brittany looks so much more grown up than when i saw her previously. babies change so quickly. it was her first birthday a few days ago on the 30th of august. she's such a sweet little thing.
this morning i booked an ad to go in a couple of the local papers around brisbane. i'm aiming at doing web development work for the domestic & small business market. i want to start with fairly simple sites & when i have gained some experience there then i can develop my skills further with more advanced sites. my brother-in-law is doing really well in his information technology course so if there's anything that i can't do then i can pass the work his way & if he can't do it then he'll know someone that can. i'm looking forward to getting some real work, if you know what i mean. i really enjoy the web development. it's what i want to do.
the number of migraines that i'm getting has reduced greatly since a couple of things have happened. we got a screen filter for my monitor & i've been away from the computer because of my job at bp. i think that the screen filter has reduced the glare a lot but when i am at home & spend a long time at the computer i still get migraines so my deduction is that it must be eye strain. today though, i got a bit of migraine just from wearing my hair in a bun! my head seems to be so delicate these days. 
.. i had an hour's sleep earlier this afternoon & i think that helped to get rid of it, as well as the two strong tablets that i took.
i've made an appointment for tomorrow to get my hair cut. it's been more than three years since i've even been near a hairdresser. that time three years ago i had it all cut off to be really short. it was sort of longer on top but no longer than an inch & at the nape of the neck it was cut short all the way to the skin. people said it looked nice but i wasn't actually very happy with the style. although i will say that the style grew out very well. not once while i was growing it long again did it look like it was 'growing out'. anyway, i haven't even had a trim since it was all cut off so the ends of my hair are quite raggedy now, especially since i've been colouring it. i'll get as little cut off tomorrow as i can, just a trim. i'd like to keep my hair long.
