pneumonia & cruise shopping - 09:30 AM
my grandma isn't doing so well. she has pneumonia & they've taken her off the chemo. my sister & i are going with mum this morning to visit her .. everybody is making sure to visit in the next few days before it's too late. poor grandma. raymond was inconsolable last weekend, but lately is a little better. eveybody's wondering what will happen with him if grandma dies. he's not that close to his family back in belgium but he may not be allowed to stay here permanently. he has no family here & can speak german, french & spanish, but no english. we all think he's great but that won't necessarily have any sway with his home country. 
later that day ..
our visit with grandma today was pretty hard going. she looks very sick & is very sick. some of the doctors say that she may not make it through the night. she could hear us & responded to us with nods or shakes of the head but hasn't been able to talk, she's on oxygen so that makes her lips & throat really dry. my sister at one stage asked if she would like someone to read to her & she very enthusiastically nodded her head immediately .. the poor thing must be bored out of her brain.
on a lighter note .. i did some speed shopping today to get an outfit or two for the cruise. i didn't have much of the day left by the time i got to the shops but i managed to find two outfits in about one & a half hours. my wonderful man handed his card to me this morning & told me to go for it. i'm getting the skirt taken up because (as usual) it's too long. i can't wait to wear my new outfits!
