come on down!! - 04:20 PM

things i could do without:

things that are interesting which i don't mind as much:

if they tried to market pregnancy & actually told the truth about it, i doubt many people would buy it.

i was really looking forward to being pregnant. i thought that i'd really enjoy it. now, i'm not hating it, there are just some things about it which i could really do without. i guess once rudegere starts making his presence felt a bit more (you know, once i can see my stomach getting bigger (preferably not from the bloating) & when i can feel him moving) i won't mind the annoying things as much because i'll be able to see & feel what it's all leading to.

one thing so far that i have found interesting is to do with the nose. there's the thing of being more sensitive to nice smells (i'd never notice before that my container of one hundred & four tea light candles had a smell) & horrible smells (i can't stand my own body odour. i'm sure no one else can smell me, but my stench is really putting me off. also, the dog's breath is really bad, even from a foot or two away), but related to that is the stuffed up nose. i'm told this is caused by the 30 to 40% increase in blood volume through my body. i assume then that the sneezing is something which is related to this. when i sneeze now, it's more often than not a double sneeze. i don't mean that i sneeze twice, like 'ahh-choo! ahh-choo!' what i mean is that there are two sneezes with only one build up. it's like 'ahhh-choo- choo!' there are two sneezes with no time to draw a breath in between. weird.

one thing i'm really looking forward to is when the morning sickness goes away, hopefully around the end of the first trimester, which is not that far away for me now. with that going away, perhaps i won't be so incredibly picky with food. it's bugging the hell out of me. i have to eat very few hours anyway, because that's how often i'm getting hungry, & if i don't eat, then i feel really, really sick. there are so many foods, though, of which i can't stand the sight or the smell. i never know which these foods will be, either, until i'm actually presented with them, or until i think about them. it changes day to day & hour to hour.

so far, foods which i can stomach with some regularity are fruit, potatoes, drinking yoghurt (although one particular flavour tastes like vomit flavour at the moment. shroom tasted it & confirmed to me that it is just me, it doesn't actually taste like vomit), most vegetables, & milk. that's been narrowed down a bit though, because milk is the worst bloating offender. one glass of cold milk & about five minutes later i look like i've eaten a fifteen course meal. i feel like it, too.

"second trimester .. come on down!!!" please, i'm begging you!
