i went to visit some friends the other day for a gorgeous little girl's second birthday party. i had a really good time. the party was smaller than originally planned, there were a few cancellations & non-turn-outs, but all the people that mattered were there. 
melanie could see how much bigger my belly is since she saw me last time. she asked if it was feeling hard yet. i hadn't actually tried poking my belly at all so i did then, on the spot & said, "nah, it's pretty soft still." she then suggested i try poking it further down, so i did. gosh .. it was kind of gross. i hadn't realised how much harder my belly was lower down, underneath my belly button. after i felt how much more solid it was, it suddenly brought to my attention again that there really is a baby in there!
i mean, i know i'm pregnant, of course .. but it's mostly a pregnancy thing at this stage, not a baby thing, if you know what i mean.
i got shroom to rub some special pregnancy oils (which i bought from the perfect potion) onto my boobs & belly & down across my hips & bum to help avoid stretch marks & to help the skin bounce back again later. he's always too ready to sleep when we get into bed to do it, so i just came downstairs in a towel after my shower, put the bottle of oil on his desk & held my towel open. as he started to rub it into my belly he laughed. when i asked him what was funny he laughed again & said, "what a gut!!" i think he's surprised at how big it is already. actually, so am i. supposedly with your first you don't really start showing until about six months. i'm coming close to seventeen weeks now, or going by calendar months, almost four months. shroom asked if there was any chance that i'm having twins, because i'm much bigger than he expected me to be at this stage.
i really don't think there's much of a chance of twins, but we'll know for sure when i have my ultrasound in just under four weeks. that'll be exciting.
