belly pats - 08:30 PM
yesterday i had my first 'belly pats' from people other than shroom .. & three in one day! these weren't belly pats from complete strangers, i'm not sure how i'd react to that. these were from three people who i know & like. i really must be looking pregnant if i'm getting belly pats already. 
this afternoon i went for a bit of a sleep with shroom & while i was lying there relaxing, i think i felt rudegere move! i'm sure of it. i've felt little things in my belly before which i thought at first might be the baby, but those were always too high, in my actual stomach, not where my uterus is.
this time i felt the tiniest little sensations lower down. it felt almost like tiny little muscle spasms, but on the inside. one or two of them felt as though they started low down, near my bladder (which made me feel as though i needed to pee), & then moved upwards a bit. i felt it a few times. i was lying on my side cuddling shroom with my left arm tucked under my belly & it was getting a bit squashed, but i was enjoying feeling the first movements that i didn't want to shift position in case i disturbed rudegere & he stopped moving. by the time i did roll over when i couldn't feel him moving anymore my arm was really sore! soon, i suppose, the movements will be so obvious i won't have to get a numb arm just to feel them.
i have my ultrasound in a little over two weeks. that'll be very exciting. we'll get to see rudegere moving around & the ultrasound person will make sure that everything's going along just as it should be. we could find out if us calling rudegere a 'he' is correct or not, but we're not going to find out if he really is a he or a she. we want the surprise at the end. i mean, by the time the kid pops out there's not a hell of a lot of mystery left about the woman's body, so we may as well have one last good surprise. 
a few people have mentioned that they'd be interested in buying a small gift for rudegere once he or she arrives. one particular lady suggested that an online baby shower might be a good idea. so if you're one of those lovely people that would like to welcome rudegere into the world in about five months, i've made an online wishlist with some cute baby stuff. they didn't have a really large range, but there are a few items which are suitable for a new bub & for further down the track.
many of the things are a bit more expensive than i would have liked to include on the list, but i'm getting the feeling that people are right when they tell me that anything to do with a baby is expensive. :-\ .. so anyway, even if you just want to send an email or send some nice mental wishes our way when bub arrives, you might want to coo & get all clucky over the gorgeous baby things available on the list. *chuckle*
