forty-three boxes plus extras - 09:20 PM
the movers are arriving tomorrow sometime between 7 & 8am. we've now packed up everything except our computers & shroom's desk which we'll do tomorrow morning. almost all of the boxes are downstairs, ready for the movers to pick them up & take them out to the truck.
this morning i had twenty-three boxes packed. i figured that there were perhaps only five or six more boxes to go. i was a little bit off on that guess: there were another nineteen, making a total of forty-three boxes, although some of those boxes were already mostly packed & just had to have a few things added to fill them to the top.
after going out to the house this morning to make sure the painters had everything they needed before they finished up (& just to check it out, shroom hadn't seen the new paint job yet), shroom & i came back here & packed from about midday onwards. about eight to nine hours of packing later & we're all done. there's a small pile on one side of the room downstairs here which will be stuff to sell in the garage sale next saturday & a huge pile on the other side of the room which is all stuff to go in the back of the truck. there are boxes one to forty-three, but also some which aren't numbered since the things inside them are actually in their original packaging, like computer monitors, vcr machine, that type of stuff, so there was no need to number the box & list the contents. there are also a few items which are either too awkward to put into boxes, or else don't need a box, like shroom's bicycle or sets of drawers.
i have no idea of the total number of boxes. i don't think i'll bother to count them. there's really no need since i'll be watching all of them go into the back of the truck & then come out again. there's not much else for me to do, really, because i can't lift anything with my big, pregnant belly in the way & my total lack of stomach muscles.
i'm rather tired now. i managed to get through the whole day pretty well with only one small injury which seems to have cleared up after just a bit of sitting & resting. my left hip was pretty sore for a while there & i had to hobble somewhat to get around, but i can't even feel it now, so i imagine i'll have no troubles with it in the morning.
speaking of the morning, i think it's my bed time really soon. the next time i write here, it'll be from our new house.
.. i'll see you there!
sleep well. unpacking is much worst than packing. you'll need the rest. all worth the effort though.
Congrats on the new house! Get plenty of rest, you're going to need it. 9 hours to pack, 9 weeks to unpack. LOL
also from a lot of congrats. have lot of happyness, joy and lots of fun in the new house.
good luck with the move & enjoy yout first night in your new house!!!
congrats on the new house. I
wish you and shroom oh yes
little one the best. take care and don't try to do the unpacking all at once
Boxes. That's what I need for my move. Boxes. Where does one get boxes nowadays (assuming one would prefer not to have to pay for them)?
ALL THE BEST TO YOU,HOPE THE WEATHER IS FINE FOR THE MOVE.
happy new house for tomorrow
