new year in the ferrous household - 08:19 AM

riley's new year:

riley was having a snooze on my chest last night as i was trying to stay awake to see in the new year. shroom gave him a kiss for new year & then me. he woke up for a lovely new year feed just after it clicked over & didn't even get any wind in his belly afterwards. he stayed awake for maybe another half hour, then slept on me in the sling. i took him to bed with me at about 2:30am & he slept all the way through to about 6:30am, only waking up then because i woke him to have a feed since my right boob was about to pop.

he went straight back to sleep until 7:30am for more food & has since been been happily squirming around on his play mat.

happy new year, my darling little boy.


shroom's new year:

shroom left at about 12:30am to go to a mate's party. i sort of wanted to go, but i was quite tired & didn't feel like hanging around heaps of people & lots of noise. it turns out that it was just a quiet one though, or else everyone had already left, because when he arrived back home this morning at about 6:15am, he said that it was just two couples there, only five people including himself. the two girls went to sleep, but the three boys stayed up all night talking & watching the sun rise. he said he had a really good night.

if i'd known it was going to be such a quiet one i would have gone, but in reality, i would have fallen asleep soon after we got there anyway. he's not the type to have heaps of friends, so i like it when shroom can spend quality time with mates. especially if it's just the boys & they can have lots of boy talk. boys need that every now & then. i'm glad he had a good time.


my new year:

i got to cuddle my baby boy until the new year clicked over & give him a health-giving & lovely settled feed. i saw my darling husband off to a party & got to tell him that i loved him before he went.

after that i sat online & did a bit of casual net-surfing while having one hand around smiley, all snuggled in close. i went to bed & had a great sleep all the way until long after the sun was up & woke up to a happily tired but buzzing husband after his nice evening out.

its only 5 pm here. so a long time before all the "woohoo-ing" stuff. glad you got the sleep. i will just chill out at home (blowing my nose) and stay way from the hazards.
