not driving after all - 07:02 PM

that's a relief! let me explain.

i have an old friend, fiona, who's visiting from sydney, along with her husband, dean, coming over for dinner tomorrow night. dad & tosca are also here from melbourne, so i've arranged for them to come over at the same time. i haven't told fiona that they're coming though, because i thought it would be a nice surprise for her as she & dad are also good friends & get along like a house on fire. dad hasn't met dean before & fiona hasn't met tosca before, so it should be a lovely night for them to be able to meet each other's loved ones.

anyway, dad & tosca had some transport issues, so i was going to pick them up from my grandparents' place at the gold coast in the afternoon, bring them back here for dinner, then drive them back to my uncle's place after dinner. each trip would have been about forty-five minutes long, which is an awful lot of driving for me, since i'm so tired these days what with the broken sleep & all because of night feeds.

that would have been about three hours of driving over a space of perhaps six hours, with some of it quite late at night. not so good. if riley then decided he was hungry on the way to one of these places, then it would have made the travel time even longer, since i'd have to stop to feed him.

so anyway, dad just called to say that the transport issue is solved. they'll still have the use of grandma & grandpa's car tomorrow evening & won't have to return it to the gold coast (which is why i was going to pick them up from there).

it's a big relief, because i was quite worried about all that driving. i get so tired these days. now i can relax over dinner, not worry about having to get dad & tosca home, & simply sit back & watch the (undoubtedly hilarious) conversation flow around me. i'm looking forward to it. *smile*

That's indeed both a nice surprise you've arranged and a relief you can stay home.
Enjoy *smile*
