i spoke to the real estate agent this morning & made our offer on this place. he'll be coming around tonight with the contract for both of us to look over & sign. we're offering lower than what the vendors are asking for, of course. aside from it being the way you do it, the place isn't really worth what they're asking anyway. if it wasn't such a 'rental' property, it might be worth more. anyone who was an owner/occupier would have spent the money fixing up the little things about this place which would improve the value .. which, of course, we'll do if our offer is accepted & the purchase goes through.
there are two places that i'll be inspecting this afternoon, since we can't simply assume that the owners will accept our offer. if they don't, then it's going to be a bit tight for time, finding a new place before we have to move out of here & before the baby comes.
whatever happens though, will be the right thing. it'll all be good.

fixing it up for a near term investment is a good idea. however, you have big expenses coming soon as well. the "fix it and make money" might further down the road than just a few years. OBTW, i write government level reports for big bucks if becki still needs help. i could use a little beer money. lol
