banks - 04:31 PM
honestly, i don't know how banks continue to do business, with the way they do business, if you know what i mean. they're stuffing around on our loan. first, the woman who was dealing with our application lost it. she lost the actual application. *rolls eyes* .. then when shroom chased her up again, she'd been moved to a different job & so someone else had to take over our application. of course, we haven't heard from him, so shroom rang up the original lady today. she acted all shocked, "he hasn't called you yet?" & said she'll chase him up to call this afternoon. no call before shroom has already had to leave work.
so typical. like i said, i don't know how they continue to do business, with the way they do business.
we don't have any major doubts about getting the loan, but when they stuff around like this, it makes us wonder if they'll ever get their bums into gear in time.
Yeah when I put my home loan application in a month or two ago, it seemed to take ages to get to talk to someone who actually was able to do anything about it. Thankfully once that happened, things moved a bit more quickly.
Been there, done that.
My latest mortgage application took over two annoying months, while my first passed in just a couple of weeks.
It was a good thing it wasn't the other way around, because the first time I was in a hurry to move to somewhere close to my work.
You think thats the end of your worries, we are, as I speak living out of packed boxes ready to move. We had problems with the building society actually sending the mortgage application which was eventually sorted out by making an awful lot of phone calls and alot of pushing along. Then we had the shock of our lives to hear that the estate agents are charging £1,100.00 for 'advertising' advertising our house (which I must add was only on the market for 4 days before being snatched up so therefore there was no advertising), so can anyone tell me how this ammount can be justified? Now we are just waiting and waiting and yeah guess what more waiting for the solicitors to get thier bums into gear and actually do some work so that we can get moving. Coralie, all I can say to you is good luck, dont get to stressed and just keep on giving them a good kick up the rear to get things moving. Now Im off to take something to calm down the stress lol, a nice bottle of wine will do nice I think!!!

i used to work in the home loan section of a major bank... and yeah... thats the usual process. the application is on a stack that never gets any smaller... each person has more work than they can do. you get moved around from desk to desk from job to job when it suits a manager...
your file will be processed eventually and it will usually happen just in time...
hint: be super nice to the person that actually has your file though and they might process it first (thats what i would do when someone was nice rather than stroppy..)
if you're going with "which bank" let me know... i might be able to help it move along...
good luck...
