plastic bags - 07:29 PM
i hate it how supermarkets seem to be doing this thing lately where they have two types of plastic bags to fill with your groceries & then they use only the ones that are really thin & crappy, so that no matter what is put in them, they end up with a tear in them, making them useless for recycling. i keep the bags i collect from the supermarket so that i can reuse them in the various bins around the house rather than buying more platic bin liners, but they're no use to me if they're torn. when i think about it, i ask them to use only the good ones but sometimes i don't remember, or don't notice until it's too late.
there's talk about implementing a plastic bag levy here, like they have in some other countries. i'd go for that. it would really go far in encouraging people to reuse bags, or to use string or cloth bags. it would certainly help me to remember to use my own bags instead of theirs. at least i reuse them in the house. that's something, i guess.
banks - 04:31 PM
honestly, i don't know how banks continue to do business, with the way they do business, if you know what i mean. they're stuffing around on our loan. first, the woman who was dealing with our application lost it. she lost the actual application. *rolls eyes* .. then when shroom chased her up again, she'd been moved to a different job & so someone else had to take over our application. of course, we haven't heard from him, so shroom rang up the original lady today. she acted all shocked, "he hasn't called you yet?" & said she'll chase him up to call this afternoon. no call before shroom has already had to leave work.
so typical. like i said, i don't know how they continue to do business, with the way they do business.
we don't have any major doubts about getting the loan, but when they stuff around like this, it makes us wonder if they'll ever get their bums into gear in time.
