well, my computer is officially cactus. when i sat down to it a few minutes ago & turned the monitor on, it was hung, just sitting there doing nothing. since even the keyboard was frozen up & ctrl+alt+del wouldn't work i kicked it in the guts via the off button & restarted it.
it sat for a few minutes, which is what it's been doing anyway, but then it came up with the dreaded 'boot disk failure, insert system disk and press enter'.
poo. 
i'm on shroom's computer now, so at least i can update via his (bless movable type), but it means no email or anything for me until i take it into work next time to test a few things. i don't have a spare hard drive here, but i think that some of our own hard drives which were returned for warranty have come back via work, so perhaps i can use one of those.
only thing though, is that tomorrow's a public holiday (the queen's birthday). shroom will be working (he has a lot of stuff to catch up on & when no one else is around is the best time for him to do it), but i'm expecting my mum to come around at some time so i'll have to be here for her. maybe i can do it later in the day or early on in the day depending on when she comes around.
i suppose now there's no excuse not to pack some more boxes.

i had it a few months ago, while working on the computer. the HDD stopted, and it was like it says: go self on the 7200 rpm, and do it yourself. and it happend on day, that the shops where closed. it always happend when ya not needed it. succes with tha problem.
