how to have a really productive few days packing boxes ready to move when you could have just been wasting your time at your computer: not check for a loose hard drive cable when your computer decides to stop working.
how embarrassing .. *blush*
well, in my defense, i probably would have checked for that sort of thing if it hadn't behaved itself perfectly when i took it to work the first time, yet played up again when i brought it back home & then died completely. i still have to wait until shroom comes home with it, so in the meantime, i'll take my <voice="tv game show announcer">newww! favourite! mug!</voice> for a test run with a cup of tea.
.. & it's not even like i had to bother to take the side off the computer to check it, either. as a true geek (even though the geek test only gave me a small geek rating) the side of the box has been open for months.
Well, if leaving the sidepanel of your computer hanging loose is a sign of geekness, I plead guilty (again). Although it could also be filed under 'not bothering to get the screwdriver, it's fine this way'
