i know i've been so slack with getting pics of me & my belly online .. soon, i promise! it takes work, you know ..

things are great today. everything is as it should be: good friends, a new mug bestowed the hard to gain status of 'favourite mug', my computer not being dead after all, a great new house to move into (with ducks, no less!), a baby on the way, a wonderful husband .. what more could a girl want?
i feel so good this afternoon that i'm even singing along to some billy joel mp3s. i love singing, but i haven't done so, even in the shower or the car, for quite a while. not sure why, but i guess my mood is good enough this afternoon to bring it out again.
i was thinking just last night about how i'd love to start singing again. professionally, i mean. however, i want to sing songs which i'd like to sing, not ones which the market &/or the pub dictates. i don't really want to sing for the money, i want to sing because i really enjoy singing. when you're being paid to sing, you have to sing stupid songs which you hate, but if you're not doing it for the money, you can sing whatever makes you happy. i had a thought .. busking in the mall would be the perfect solution to this!
not sure that it'll be happening any time soon, what with a bubby on the way & all, but who knows, if i can find myself a willing musician to accompany me (& a busking license) then i might just do it as soon as i can.

how to have a really productive few days packing boxes ready to move when you could have just been wasting your time at your computer: not check for a loose hard drive cable when your computer decides to stop working.
how embarrassing .. *blush*
well, in my defense, i probably would have checked for that sort of thing if it hadn't behaved itself perfectly when i took it to work the first time, yet played up again when i brought it back home & then died completely. i still have to wait until shroom comes home with it, so in the meantime, i'll take my <voice="tv game show announcer">newww! favourite! mug!</voice> for a test run with a cup of tea.
new favourite mug - 03:59 PM

oh! i almost forgot to say .. i met up with jade & melanie today. jade said the other day that she'd bought me something & wanted to give it to me, so she gave it to me today. a new favourite mug!!! a cow mug! yay! it's really cute. it's not in the shape of a cow, but it has a cow on the outside of it (with its face on the other side) & a small cow picture on the inside lip of the mug. it's really cute. i was absolutely thrilled that she got it for me. it's excellent. my friends are good to me.
she's going to do another nice thing for me too. i was sitting watching tv the other night & had to put a small blanket over my shoulders to keep warm. now that it's winter, it's getting rather cool at night. the weather at our new house will be a couple of degrees more extreme than it is here (being slightly more inland) so it'll be even colder there. as i was sitting there being cold (despite the little blanket) i thought how nice a poncho would be.
we stopped to look in lincraft & i mentioned how i'd thought of wanting a poncho. both jade & melanie said how easy it would be to make one. yeah, it would be easy, but it's just too messy around here at the moment. jade said that she'd make it for me. so we chose some nice polar fleece & trim & jade took it home with her. i'll have to find something nice for jade to repay her for doing such a nice thing for me.

hopefully i'll have my computer back this afternoon sometime. shroom took it to work with him this morning to install a new hard drive for me, but depending on how busy his day was, will depend on how much is left to do on it tonight when he brings it back home with him. i told him that if he was busy just to bring one of our warranty return hard drives home & i'd do it all. we'll see.
