i had my obstetrician appointment today & even he said how big my belly is for twenty-five weeks (tomorrow). i guess it's because i'm so little & rudegere seems to be normal size, so on me (well, in me), he looks very large. when i lay down for him to check rudegere's heartbeat though (very strong & steady, i'm happy to say 
) he said that it looked more normal. i guess he sits differently inside me when i'm lying down.
he gave me an order thingamy to go & have the glucose tolerance test done. apparently it's not one of the more pleasant tests you have to go through as a pregnant woman. hang on, let me see if i can find a link that'll tell you about it ..
okay, here. although on that link, it says you don't eat for six hours. my obstetrician said twelve hours, so maybe it's different here. i'll be doing it first thing in the morning though, so really, i should be okay if i eat dinner late. lately, i've gone longer than that before i feel the need to eat brekky anyway, so i think i'll be fine.
i don't expect that i'll be found to have gestational diabetes, which is what the test is for. i don't come under any of the 'at risk' groups & i've been feeling very well anyway.
from what i hear the sugary drink isn't very nice & there's a lot of it. i jokingly asked if i could just eat sugar instead (i love sugar. sometimes i eat sachets of it at cafes) but he said it doesn't work that way. hehe. oh well. 
maybe is the test for the 100 percent, insted the 99,9999 percent. don't worry about it, bout tha glucose test. greetings to ya, and of corse the rest!!!
hey corri, I've had heaps of these cos I have PCOS which is associated with type 2 diabetes (got that too). The worst worth thing I found out about the GTT was the fasting cos I feel ill when I don't eat. Trust me on an empty stomach u'll guzzle that drink just to get some sugar back into u! You'll be fine!
I thought it was yucky! but it may have improved with time

are you having the glucose tolerance test or the glucose screening test? normally you only do the g.t.t. if you get a positive on the screening test, which you don't have to fast for and is only one blood draw one hour after the drink instead of several at set intervals..
and the stuff isn't really as horrible as some sites/people make it sound. i thought it was kind of like the taste of a lemonade icy pole (you know how they don't really actually taste like lemonade tastes when you drink it?). really sweet.
