i've been going through some old digital camera pics & have been putting up a few which i like for one reason or another.

i've found out something very nice about playing with digital camera images in windows xp. even though there's no 'web view' anymore (whereby i could select an image file & it would show a small thumbnail of it, rather than having to wait for all the images to load as thumbnails) there is a very handy kind of mouseover thing. if i hover the cursor over the file, it tells me the dimensions of the image, the file size, the date & time the picture was taken & even the camera with which it was taken! very, very nice.
this is how i've been able to be so precise with the dates on some of the older pictures of which i can't remember the details (read: anything taken more than three days ago).
i'm almost sure this information might have been available under another version of windows, but if it was, i'd never found it. mind you, i didn't go looking for it, but on the other hand, it didn't jump out & introduce itself to me as it has in windows xp.

speaking of singing, i had a set of very odd dreams this morning. in the one i remember most, i was at some kind of large concert, perhaps a fundraising concert, where there were tons of celebrities including people like whoopi goldberg, geena davis, & a whole host of blonde actresses who i would have recognised in the dream, but whose names i can't recall now that i'm awake. i think woody allen may have been in there somewhere too.
as they sung, they were passing around hand held microphones with huge spit covers on them, so large that the mics looked kind of like fairy floss on sticks, except that they were white instead of pink.
at one stage i was in the huge chorus of people singing along to some familiar song. (i still had it going over in my mind for about half an hour after i woke up. i think it's a real song, except that i may have had the words wrong.) during the first song, many of the actresses kept looking back at me with wide eyes. there was another song after that & still it was happening. i looked around me wondering if they were really looking at me & was trying to figure out if i was doing something wrong.
finally i asked why everyone kept looking at me. the actresses said that they could hear me singing & were amazed at the volume i was producing & at the complex harmonies which i was coming up with. i was surprised, & somewhat embarrassed, because i didn't realise that anyone could really hear me above all the other people singing around me.
dreams like that make me wish that i was still singing professionally. mind you, no matter what i do, i don't think i'll be getting looks from movie stars & celebrities.

i'm just listening to 'bohemian rhadsody' by queen. what a great song. i've never gone out of my way to listen to queen, but whenever i hear any of their songs, i can't help but appreciate their musical brilliance. freddy mercury had the most amazing singing voice. it's a shame he's not with us anymore. queen were so far ahead of their time.

i've been up for almost forty-five minutes already. shroom's working today (& most likely tomorrow, as well) doing things which can't be done during working hours. i got up with him so i could hang out for a bit before he leaves, but i dare say that i'll be flaking out not too much later in the day.
