in celebration of the move to our new house this sunday (& its new paint job, i checked it out yesterday & it's looking very pretty indeed) i've made a new background for my site. just in case you were worried, no, the new background here looks nothing like the paint job at the house.

shroom & i have this running joke where sometimes our response to whatever the other person has said is the classic useless retort often used by juveniles, "you are!"
last night i was telling him how i hadn't felt rudegere move much (just to add to his stress from work, the poor bugger). this morning, before he left, i mentioned that i might see the doc. i've since emailed him to let him know that everything seems okay after all, just in case he was worried & i got an email back, "thanks coralie." i replied, "you're welcome." a minute later i got one more from him saying just, "you are!"
okay, so maybe you had to be there .. but i found it funny anyway.
some movement - 08:25 AM

after reassurance by a couple of people in comments on the entry below, i felt much better that rudegere was just having a quiet day or so while he does some growing or resting. the doctor did call me & was able to fit me in at 8:45am, but a few minutes after that i felt some definite movement. i feel satisfied that everything is okay now, so i cancelled the appointment. *phew* everything is good with the world again.
not moving very much - 07:03 AM

rudegere hasn't been moving very much just lately. when i went to bed last night & he didn't start jumping around within five minutes, as he usually does, i realised that i hadn't felt any major movement, if any movement, all day. i lay still in various positions last night to see if he would move at all, but i only felt the lightest of movements, nothing compared to the usual strong kicks & punches.
i lay awake for most of the night worrying about him.
this morning i talked to him as i was making my cup of tea & told him that i would make a nice strong one & that if he didn't move much, then i was going to make an appointment to see the doctor just to make sure we could still hear his heartbeat. he responded with a couple of light hits to the inside. that's something, i guess.
so i've finished my tea & he hasn't jumped around. even though i did feel very light movement last night & once this morning, i think i will make an appointment to see the doctor, just to make sure. perhaps he's just having a lazy couple of days, but if i can make my worry go away with a simple gp appointment, then i may as well do it & if there's nothing to worry about, then all well & good.
