gosh, i wish i knew which box i'd packed my jumper in. it's just a little bit chilly this morning with all the windows open because of the new paint job. i thought we'd be freezing last night in bed, but it actually wasn't that cold.
we know that paint fumes are bad anyway, but shroom's mum & dad gave us dire warnings about it when they found out that we were going to be sleeping here sunday night after the painting was finished only saturday afternoon. shroom's dad was sick for a week when he slept in their closed up house after he'd done some painting. he was up during the night lots of times vomiting heaps. i can deal with being sick (although obviously i take steps to avoid it where possible) but when i'm responsible for what rudegere breathes too, there's no way i'll put him at risk.
so every single window has been open (& most doors where possible) since the painting was finished. we're lucky we don't live in a really cold climate, i guess, & that we have a decent doona. i put extra blankets on the bed, just in case, but i didn't need them in the end & kicked them off pretty soon after getting into bed.
so the first night in our house was excellent. the only bad thing i have to report is that my shoulders were still hurting .. but that's not the house's fault.
