my computer is back up & online again. i still have a few things to change though, such as one of the settings in xp. it's in a really tricky spot which i can never remember. things which make the windows all curvy & supposedly special. personally, i think it makes it look like fisher price designed them. changing them to more normal looking windows improves the speed greatly too, so as soon as i find it, bye bye fisher price.
email is next. i know i could have checked using webmail, but i prefer to do it the usual way, keeping the old mail where i want it, with all the settings i like, so i prefer just to wait the day or two. generally there's nothing so urgent which can't wait anyway. so i'll reply to your email soon.

It's looking really pretty! Of course, I installed it more for the functional benefits than the aesthetic ones.
