five hours & two grand later - 06:27 PM

i made it. i had a large list of the basics & i have everything minus about two items on my list. most of it's inside now, on the floor or leaned up against the wall here in the lounge room. there are a couple of items still in the car which are too heavy for me to carry, some items still in the shop which weren't in stock but have been placed on order for me & some bits which simply wouldn't fit into the car which we'll probably borrow shroom's mum & dad's trailer for when the items on order arrive. maybe the pile sitting there will look more like $2000 worth after those items arrive. i think it will.

i did end up getting the couple of larger things which i needed. i went into babyco & they had a deal on where if you spend over a certain amount then you get a rocking chair type thing, except that it kind of slides instead of rocks. my sister has one almost exactly the same & it's really good. she said she spent hours in it breastfeeding & settling her first baby. since i had to spend a lot anyway, this was the perfect way to get something else good from it.

i've just had a mammoth session on the phone with my sister, who has two kids of her own, making a list of things which i'll need for when the bub comes home from the hospital with me. just the basics: a place to sleep, clothes to keep warm, places & things required to be washed & changed. now that i have my list, i feel that i have things much more under control than i did last night at 1:30am when i had my little panic attack.

i'm about to head out now to purchase the bulk of these things. either tonight, or this weekend, i'll get shroom to help me take the heavier of the half unpacked boxes out of the nursery & i can get these things put away & organised.

there are a couple of larger items on the list, namely a cot & a pram which i may leave until another time after i've done a bit of research, either on the net or my physically looking at what's available. if the baby decides to come as early as tomorrow, then as one of my wonderful friends commented, we can put the baby in a box if absolutely necessary .. & there's no shortage of those around here .. lol! anyway, it's not likely to come to that.

everything is under control now. everything is good.

possibly t.m.i (too much information): i think one of my boobs was leaking during the night. i woke up twice in the early hours with one side of my pajamas kind of wet. if it does it again i may have to start wearing a bra (or maybe my belly bra) to bed with a breast pad or two tucked in it.
