cold is still here - 06:18 PM
this damn cold is still hanging around. it's not as bad as it was. what's coming from my lungs looks slightly less flourescent these days, so perhaps it's on its way out.
tell you what though .. my ribs feel like they've been bruised from all the coughing! just on the one side, the left, it absolutely kills when i cough & even when i press on my ribs lightly with my fingers it hurts like buggery. it must be from the coughing because i haven't done anything else to them to hurt them.
.. perhaps it's sort of pregnancy related, since some of the muscles i'd usually use to be coughing with are being used for other things these days.
damn computers - 05:26 PM
i've been having some weird error on my computer lately whenever i connect to the internet. it tells me, "windows must now restart because the remote procedure call service terminated unexpectedly" & then hey presto, it would give me sixty seconds (or something) to save my work blah, blah, blah & would reboot automatically. since this would happen about thirty seconds after i'd connect, i wouldn't even have a chance to google the error to see what others had to say about it.
i jumped on shroom's computer then to look it up. i managed to find something about it & followed the instructions to change some of the properties of this service in the services section so that i can at least do stuff online without it rebooting. other advice was regarding firewalls & to install the latest windows updates.
lo & behold though, about five minutes after being connected on shroom's computer it had the same error! shroom's not come across it before, so he had as much idea as i had.
i tried installing the latest windows updates but it gets as far as downloading it & then just sits there indefinitely saying "preparing to install" but doing nothing. okay, maybe not 'indefinitely', but i left it for at least twenty minutes & it hadn't moved. generally that's long enough for that sort of thing, even if it is going terribly slowly.
stupid bloody windows.
