nappy fluff - 03:58 PM

i've been working on getting the baby's room all set up, ready for when he decides it really is too cramped in there & decides to come early .. 
i put all the nappies & a few bunny rugs into the wash (normal, flat cloth ones as well as the three shaped ones which i'm going to try) to get rid of any chemicals left from the manufacturing process as well as any dust or other grossness which might be in or on them. i hear it helps to make them a little more absorbent, too.
i gave each item a good shake, as i do with most things, before i put them in the dryer. there was a bit of fluff coming off them. usually the dryer does a good job of getting rid of extra fluff, too.
when i took them out, i cleaned out the fluff filter & was amazed at how much was in there. usually, from just one load, there's the thinnest layer of fluff & lint. this time, there was a layer of white fluff about an inch thick!!
there's still more though. i'm giving them another shake before i fold them & fluff is going everywhere. it's going to look like it was snowing in here by the time i'm done.
