shroom's parents decided to give us a very practical gift for the baby. they went halves with us on an air conditioner! it's a top of the line, split system, reverse cycle fujitsu powerful enough to do the whole house. with the temperatures having been over 30 degrees centigrade lately (over 86 fahrenheit) & it being only spring, i think we'll get fantastic use out of it.
it was physically installed last week, but we're still waiting for the electrician to come to connect it up. he's been taking his time & been really slack about letting us know when he'll finally be here.
i called him earlier & he was full of this excuse & that excuse as to why he hasn't come yet when we were expecting him last week, including the excuse that we're much further out than he thought. geez, doesn't he have a map? *rolls eyes* he shouldn't have accepted the job if he couldn't or didn't want to do it.
so anyway, he reckons that he'll be out around 3pm or 4pm, which could be anytime now. i'll believe it when he actually turns up. *more eye rolling*

i think riley's going to be quite strong. i'm fairly stocky myself, not only for a girl, but for a girl of my height (five foot nothing) & shroom is quite muscley. he has very strong shoulders & neck, in fact, he's large enough around that area that many shirts just won't fit him right.
from day one, i noticed that riley has been able to hold his own head up for short amounts of time. they reckon that he shouldn't be able to do that until one or two months old. of course, every mother likes to think that their child is extra special in one way or another, but even the lady next door noticed how strong his neck is too, without me mentioning it.

possible tmi (too much information) warning:
they told me to make sure i keep my water intake up to ensure a good supply of breast milk. i've been drinking more water each day than i might have previously done in a week! it certainly must be all going into the production of breast milk, because the amount i've been peeing does not correspond to the amount of water i've been consuming.

i swear riley's grown visibly over the last twenty-four hours. with the amount that he's been feeding, it wouldn't surprise me, either.
