finally hooked up - 12:37 PM

after the electrician didn't turn up for the nth time, we told him in no uncertain terms that he wasn't to bother coming back. we hired someone else to do hook up the air conditioner for us. it was his people that installed it into the actual wall, so we still owe him for that, but we will be taking the cost of the new guy off the bill. if he has a problem with it we'll be taking him to court over it. it's just plain rude to not turn up. if he'd at least called us to let us know he couldn't make it, it might have been different.
so anyway, it's been installed by the new guy (who did the job very quickly & was a really lovely & polite man) & is working like a charm. of course, as soon as it was hooked up, the weather changed & we're now needing to wear long sleeves again. 
.. isn't it always the way?
