moving rooms - 08:12 PM

we've had riley's cot in our room since he came home, but today we moved it into his own room. when i get up for feeds in the night, sometimes i'll bring him back to bed with me & he'll sleep either beside me or lying on my chest. when i put him in the cot he doesn't seem to sleep as soundly & fusses a few times before finally falling asleep, whereas when he sleeps with us, he stays asleep for longer & doesn't fuss.

so i figure for when i do put him in his cot, he won't keep us awake with his little fussing noises & we'll only hear him when he's really ready for a feed or a nappy change.

i just walked past the bedroom & remembered that his cot is no longer in there & realised that i'll miss him. we'll see how we go. i like bringing him to bed with me sometimes anyway, it's nice to cuddle him, so i won't miss him all night. *smile*

you might surprise yourself and sleep soundly... after you get used to the quiet!

You're pretty early doing this, from what I know (which is more each week .. if and when I get kids I'll be prepared *wink* ).
Let's hope Riley doesn't mind having his own room *smile*

once bonded, i'm sure its hard to separate for both of you. no voice of experience here though. just the rambling mind of an analyst.

if he is going to sleep in with you, you might want to get him out of the habit of sleeping on your chest because that could get quite uncomfortable as he starts to grow *wink*
