circumcision is done - 09:01 AM

i forgot to write more about his circumcision the other day. he went on thursday, as was the plan. he was crying for a feed by the time i got there (they ask that if possible you don't feed them for two hours beforehand) but when i carried him inside he settled down & slept. i got teary thinking about what he was going to go through, but i didn't cry. when they came to take him away i made sure to give him a kiss before he went.
it didn't take very long. he was back with me about fifteen minutes later & he wasn't even crying. i gave him a feed & he was happy after that.
the doctor came in & told me that he has a funny shaped penis. he told me this to make sure that we knew it was just the shape he was born with, nothing that he did by circumcising him. poor little bugger. we'll see what it looks like after the plastibell drops off. if it's really really weird then maybe we'll get something done about it if possible so that he doesn't suffer any mental issues (boys seem to have such issues with their penises), but from what i can see now, it's just kind of bigger on the underside than on the top side.
he was a little unsettled the rest of the day & a bit the next day too, but aside from that, he's been fine. i'm glad there were no problems.

a frog has taken up residence in our tiolet cistern. we'd just gone to bed last night when we heard him making a kind of trill noise. being in the toilet, with lots of tiles etc, it echoed quite loudly. we got up out of bed to try to remove him & take him outside, but he crawled back down into the drain. i thought he was gone, but i heard him again during the night & a few times again this morning. if he's calling for a mate, i'm not sure he's going to have much luck in his present location.

as i suspected, i missed him when i went to bed with us in our room & him in his. at his (approximately) 2am feed, his nappy had leaked, so i kept him in bed with me after that anyway. it was just as good an excuse as any.
