i was sure i'd linked to this site already in one of the diary entries about britt but i did a search & i can't find any links. so anyway, i was going to tell you about riley's trauma teddy.
when britt went into hospital with leukaemia she was given a trauma teddy to help her feel better. kelsey was given one, too, as the sister of britt. britt's been in & out of hospital a couple of times now & she was given another trauma teddy on the last stay. monica decided that riley could have the third teddy, so now he has one too.
you can't buy these teddies, you have to be given one if you're a very sick child or you're the sibling of a very sick child. so for riley to have one is very special. shroom jokingly said that he should have one because it would mean he'll get sick, but i said that no, it's a symbol of hope. riley's trauma teddy is a pooh bear teddy. he has a red jumper with 'pooh' written on it. lucky riley. 
My nephew was diagnosed with cancer when he was two...he had tons of surgery and chemo and I delivered to him a stuffed cat named "Boo Boo Kitty". To this day (six years later and in remission) he still grabs that kitty when he doesn't feel good. I think your Riley is very special to have a Trauma Teddy - we all need one!

okay, so maybe it's not a real trauma teddy, but just one which was made for the kids by someone else, because he doesn't have a red cross patch on his tummy. he's cute anyway & i'm glad monnie gave him to riley.
