riley's given himself a few really good scratches just today. his nails have just been cut, so they're not even close to long, but i think he's getting stronger now, so when he flings his arms around & gets himself on the head or the face, he's gouging himself harder than he did before. he's not breaking the skin at all, just leaving some really impressive red lines. i'll be glad when he has more control of his hands & can avoid his face.
he worries me too, when he manages to grab his face in his little fingers right near his eyes & he gets so close to taking his eye out! just as well the blink reflex is just that, a reflex, or i'm sure many babies would have blinded themselves.

riley's never found his thumb, so to speak, but about two weeks ago he seemd to discover his hand. when he's thinking about a feed, he puts his hand up to his mouth & tries to suck on it, or at least lick it. it's rather cute.

hmm .. i thought that my latest diary entry was some of my best work, but i've only had two comments on it. do i have an inflated view of what i think is funny or are people just not leaving many comments?
eh, i wrote it to amuse myself really (& it did) so hey, it doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things, does it? my whole site is to amuse me, not anyone else, when it comes down to it, i just think it's a bonus when other people are also amused by it.
