bloody flies! - 08:05 PM
bloody flies! that's what i've been saying a lot this last week. they've appeared for the summer with a vengeance & are so very annoying (& filthy & gross) as they always are. however, this year we have a baby who sleeps with his mouth open, so i particularly don't want them on or near him. so i've ordered an environmentally friendly fly trap. apparently it can attract flies from up to two kilometres away. the idea is that you set it a bit away from the area where you want them to go away from. they crawl down into it & die .. muahahahaha! die, flies, die!!
let's hope it works as well as they say it does. it looks pretty good .. now, if only we could find something similar for the god-knows-now-many funnell web spiders around our property.
all fixed - 07:52 PM

our dryer which was broken is now fixed. it was something quite simple, fortunately. the guy tested a few things which all seemed fine. he then plugged the thingamies back onto the element & saw that one of the connectors was quite corroded. so electricity was getting through to the element, but because of the corrosion, the current getting through was too low to heat it up. he snipped off the old one, replaced it with a new one & voila! all done.

sarah mentioned how she's been reading while her little one, james, has marathon feeds. i bought the latest harry potter book yesterday thinking i could do the same. i hope i can, but riley tends to be on & off & on & off the boob usually, rather than staying on & sucking for long periods of time. he tends to stay put more on his last courses of a feed, so perhaps i'll get some good reading in during his dessert, after dinner mints & coffee.
less grunting? - 06:24 AM

riley didn't grunt & squirm last night in bed, as much as he has the previous nights. i feel much more rested this morning because of it. i hope this trend is going to continue ..
