still not right on the left - 10:21 AM

my left nipple is continuing to give me problems, as i mentioned earlier, so i spoke to someone from the australian breastfeeding association this morning & she gave me some great advice. she said that if riley is latching properly, even with the existing damage to the nipple, it shouldn't hurt when he feeds. she gave me some suggestions on helping him to latch better, ways to avoid it hurting so much & ways to encourage healing of the nipple. i just gave him a feed using her advice & it's helped already.
she suggested that thrush might be the problem, which i suspected but i was hoping it wasn't. anyway, it's quite a common occurance with breastfeeding, so this afternoon before i leave for melbourne, i'll simply buy some daktarin over the counter & start on that. if there are no signs of improvement over the next couple of days, then i'll see a doctor while i'm in melbourne.
