ahh, bless the bouncy seat. i had a nice long shower & even managed to shave my legs because of the wonderful bouncy seat.
riley's reached a stage where he doesn't like to be on his own if he's awake. he'll call out reltively calmly for a few minutes, but then when no one appears he'll get quite upset. so i put him in the bouncy seat & sat it in front of the shower with the door open so that he could see i was right there. i chatted away to him while i washed & shaved & brushed my teeth & he was quite happy.
having the shower door open meant the mat got a little more wet than usual, but it's a small price to pay for a long, hot shower & a happy baby. 
I had that very bouncy seat when I was a baby. I even remember it (although I probably only from photos come to think of it)
There's no substitute for this design. James's other nan bought him an upholstered seat, supposedly fancier. James *hates* it. Not enough bounce apparently.
Anything that allows you to have a decent shower (and shave your legs, imagine!) is number one in my book.
