i've noticed that the blogs or journals of the people i read regularly who have had babies or have become pregnant since i began reading them write almost exclusively about their pregnancy or their baby. since i've had my own child i've come to realise that the reason for this is not that the person is obsessed with the topic, but that the baby really does take up at least 98% of your waking (& your sleeping) life. even when the baby isn't with you for some reason or other, you're still thinking about them. if you're not holding or feeding or changing the baby then you're almost undoubetdly doing something which is somehow related to caring for the child.
even though with most babies there's not much inherently difficult about being a mum, such as having to think terribly hard or having to work your body very hard, it's just so constant. it never stops.
it's wonderful.
Being a mum is a full-time job, but so rewarding. Can you imagine going off to work and only seeing Riley at the end of a long day when you are tired. I think mums who do this do not enjoy that wonderful bonding. I love reading about mums and their babies.
