damn it. i was trying to have a rest earlier, but smiley was unsettled, so that was no go. then i had to answer the phone to sort out some isp issues we've been having. now i'm waiting for my mum to call back about coming for a visit tomorrow or wednesday, as well as for someone else to call me back after i left a message on their machine, so if i do go back to bed, i'll bet that the phone rings. i have stome stuff to do anyway, so even if i did go to bed & the phone didn't ring, i'd probably just lie there thinking about the things i have to do rather than being able to sleep.
i must have an early night tonight.

smiley is having the best time playing with sounds. he's found his tongue lately & has only just discovered the fun of making sounds while he sticks his tongue out to make the sounds different. it's so gorgeous. babies are endlessly amusing, aren't they?

riley started out with a fine covering of light brown hair, but has since lost most of it from the top of his head. he was pretty bald for a while there, he had only the finest covering of very short hair, but it's beginning to grow longer until now it's at the stage where when the light shines on him you can see his lovely, fine blonde hair. as it grows longer & the bits around the back & sides of his head catch up, he'll have a lovely head of gorgeous, white blonde hair.

i have a headache which i've had since about midday yesterday. i took something for it in the afternoon but it's still hanging around. stupid thing. it's probably from being over-tired, since riley & i have had quite a number of very busy days all in a row.
