yummy feast - 10:39 PM

shroom & i went to melanie's place tonight to have a mid-summer feast with her & neil & jade, daniel & stephanie. the food was absolutely delicious! smiley had his first swim which he wasn't too sure about. he only stayed in for a couple of minutes but he did very well considering how cool the water was. we got some pictures which i'll post sometime tomorrow or the next day.

a funny thing happened. i looked at smiley & saw he had a couple of little red bits on his head. from a distance it looked almost like a small graze. as i got closer though, i realised it wasn't that at all. stephanie had been kissing him so it was actually left over cranberry sauce from around her mouth! *chuckle*

is it silly that it's almost 33 degrees (91f) outside, yet i'm sitting inside with the air conditioner on feeling cold? i've switched it off now. or perhaps i should just adjust the temperature?

smiley's gone back to sleep, so since i had a late night last night at the party of one of shroom's friends, i think i'll go back to sleep too & risk becoming bait again for all the animals around here which are determined to attack me.

more bitey things - 06:49 AM

since i'm detailing the things which have bitten me lately, i may as well tell you about the other ones. i also have a large mosquito bite just below my shoulder blade (the mosquitos are really bad just lately), as well as an ant bite beside my toe nail on the second toe of my right foot.

i'll be sure to let you know if i get any more. i can see you're on the edge of your computer seats.

.. no, i have no idea why i'm chronicling my various insect attacks. i guess because it's my blog & because i can? lol! *chuckle*

naughty bitey thing - 06:36 AM

my hand, where the bitey thing got me yesterday, is more swollen. i thought that it was going away, but last night i noticed that the swollen area is larger than it was yesterday morning. either that or i didn't realise how big it was at first. it's no worse this morning than it was last night but it's still itchy. the puffy area has a nice pinkish hue to it as well. whatever it is that got me did a good job!

fortunately there's not really any pain to speak of, the itchiness is annoying is the worst that i can say about it, & the puffiness isn't limiting my hand or finger movement at all. oh, i also think that i was mistaken about two bite marks. there is a definite mark on one spot which is relatively large & one smaller spot which is a little itchier than the rest but might not be a bite mark at all. the larger spot might, in fact, only be a mosquito bite on top of the spider bite or it could be a spider bite which looks just like a mozzie bite. than again, now that i think about it, it could have just been one mother of a mosquito with a really viscious bite!

if it gets any worse i'll do something about it, but i really don't think there's any cause for alarm.
