wow. my respect for the general public of the world (at least the ones that voted) has just grown a hundred fold. okay, warning again, spoilers ahead about world idol.
i am really very pleasantly surprised that the norwegian idol won it! he has a brilliant voice & i'm so pleased that people could see past his non-pop star looks to recognise a fantastic voice when they heard it. i wouldn't call him ugly at all, but he definitely does not have what you would call your classic pop star features: skinny & pretty.
it's a pity that guy sebastian didn't win, but i think this is one case where the best man really did come home with the prize.
as a side note, not surprisingly at all, as i write this i can't get to the world idol site to review the results. the hits that server is getting right now must be absolutely phenomenal.

there are spoilers ahead if you haven't watched the halfway results of world idol yet.
i'm surprised at how well the norwegian guy has done so far. i mean, personally, i think he has a fantastic voice, but i really thought his looks would get in the way of votes from other countries. i hope he does win.
also surprisingly, i thought guy (from australia) would be doing better. oh well.
we'll see what happens next.

the thrush on my left nipple has come back, so last night i left my maternity bra undone, since they say that airing it out can help. anyway, i thought it might happen .. a mozzie got me on my boob! naughty mosquito ..

smiley's woken up with a lot of energy this morning. he woke for his morning feed & afterwards i put him on his stomach again, hoping he might fall back to sleep, but instead he kept bobbing his head up & down with a funny grin on his face like some insane turtle. rotf! 
now he's lying on his play mat, noisily filling his nappy, throwing his arms & legs around & talking loudly to the toys hanging above him. he's such a funny kid!
