steve irwin - 06:53 PM
did anyone see the thing in the news about steve irwin going near a crocodile with his baby? it's been all over the news, you could hardly have missed it.
personally, i don't think he did anything wrong.
to me, it equates to a race car driver taking his baby in his car, or a tight rope walker taking his baby up on the ropes. they know exactly what they are doing & they are taking a calculated risk. i wouldn't do it, because i don't know crocodiles, but he is an expert in his field, & as he said himself, there's no way known he would put his baby in danger.
he was enjoying showing off his baby while doing what he does. he did say in an interview that he would do it differently if he had his time over again, but obviously only because everyone kicked up such a big stink about it. his wife, the baby's mother, didn't have a problem with it, she trusts him & his judgement, so i think others should too.
fencing nipples - 05:52 PM
you know those mesh face guards that fencers (not as in a picket fence, i mean fencing with the wobbly sword thingy & "en guarde!" & the white pajamas) wear?
.. & you know those tea strainer things for making tea with real tea leaves that have the two mesh cups which hold the tea in the middle?
well, i took the advice of the australian breastfeeding association lady from the first time i talked to her about thrush from breastfeeding & i put one of each of those tea strainer cups over my nipples to keep my bra off them & to allow some air to circulate around them. now, every time i expose my boob to feed smiley, i look down & see this & think that my nipples are about to say "en guarde!"
friday five - 08:55 AM
i'm doing the friday five again this week.
What one thing are you most looking forward to ...
1. ...today?
getting a decent nap. not sure if it's going to happen though. sleeping seems like such a waste of time when i could be having some 'me' time.
2. ...over the next week?
starting my enjo training.
3. ...this year?
earning some good money so that i can finally start contributing financially.
4. ...over the next five years?
earning enough money to rival shroom's wages so that we can be on an equal footing.
5. ...for the rest of your life?
living, loving & learning with my family.
