we saw a show on tv the other day about the development of babies & children. it was quite interesting. one of the things they mentioned was that before babies start grabbing & reaching for things they'll start to have their hands meet. that is, they'll begin to join their hands up in front of them & hold one hand or fingers with the other one.
very shortly after we watched this program, smiley began to do that. his little fingers move around & play with the fingers of the other hand & he looks as though he's thinking very hard. it's really cute to watch. 
we had some professional pictures taken when allan came to visit us after stephanie was born. she was 3 weeks old at the time. we hadn't realised until we got the pictures back but she actually had her hands folded all cutely in the pictures. was cool

What's funny is when they get their hands to meet, then draw them in to their face so close that their eyes cross looking at them. It's hilarious.
