ouch!! how do you teach an almost four month old baby that munching on mummy's nipple is very naughty? he's been doing it a number of times almost every feed for the last day or so. thank goodness he doesn't have teeth yet!

poo bum. i can't start my enjo training tomorrow as i'd hoped. 
our second car blew up this afternoon. shroom said that there was smoke pouring out from under the bonnet & that bits of the engine fell out onto the road & everything.
as bad things go, this turned out pretty well though, because we were about to pay for six more months of registration on it & we were also about to buy four new tyres. i'm so glad we didn't spend that money.
it's also not such a bad thing, despite my disappointment, that i have to do the enjo training next month instead, because i'm supposed to have six to ten demonstrations booked before i start training, but i only have one.
anyway, like i said, as bad things go, this turned out pretty good.

i spent a bit of time on the phone this morning to find out my options regarding the suspension of my license. it turns out that the official date of suspension doesn't begin until they receive payment of the fine.
i also found out that i can only apply to have my case looked at by the magistrate's office on the official date of suspension when they will look at my application & then give me a date for a hearing where i will state my case. my license is then reinstated between the date of my application & the date of the hearing. so i'm off the hook a bit until then. *phew*
what with starting my enjo training this week & having doctor's appointments etc, i would have been in trouble if i wasn't allowed to drive anywhere.
i cancelled a couple of engagements with friends this past weekend before i knew that i was still allowed to drive, which is a shame, because i was really hoping to catch up with the people i was going to catch up with, but i guess it's better to be safe than sorry.

the other day i had a much needed hour or so nap in the middle of the day. riley wasn't sleepy, so ordinarily i wouldn't have been able to sleep, but shroom said he'd look after him while i slept. eventually he came back in to get me when riley needed a feed.
it was the longest time that shroom has looked after riley all on his own since he's begun to be much more interactive. as he handed riley to me for me to feed him, he said, "he's fun to play with!"
i thought it was really cute. i already knew that, but it's nice to see shroom enjoying him as much as i do.

i keep forgetting to write about this, but at the time i thought it was so nice. i still do.
on christmas eve at about 7pm, one of the local fire trucks (they're the little ones since it's a rural fire service) came down our street using its siren in a rather odd way. we wondered what was going on (shroom said maybe they were drunk .. 
) until we saw a second one following a bit further behind. santa was on the back of it waving to everyone as he went past! i was never taught to believe in santa (i don't feel as though i missed out on anything) but i thought it was really nice, none-the-less. those of our family who had already arrived said that when they were on their way to our house they saw lots of kids waiting around at the end of their driveways & wondered what was going on .. & that was it. lovely.
