i keep forgetting to write about this, but at the time i thought it was so nice. i still do.
on christmas eve at about 7pm, one of the local fire trucks (they're the little ones since it's a rural fire service) came down our street using its siren in a rather odd way. we wondered what was going on (shroom said maybe they were drunk .. 
) until we saw a second one following a bit further behind. santa was on the back of it waving to everyone as he went past! i was never taught to believe in santa (i don't feel as though i missed out on anything) but i thought it was really nice, none-the-less. those of our family who had already arrived said that when they were on their way to our house they saw lots of kids waiting around at the end of their driveways & wondered what was going on .. & that was it. lovely.

not last year but the year before, my boyfriend put on a santa suit and went driving around his neighbourhood. he'd honk his horn and throw lollies to the little kids..
that sort of thing makes christmas that just extra bit special, i think
