today smiley reached out to me for the first time!
actually, it was twice. a friend was holding him & he turned his body around & kind of leaned/reached toward me as though he wanted to be held by me. we thought maybe it was just an accident, that maybe he just happened to be leaning in that direction, but then when she brought him closer & sat him on the edge of the table near me, he did it again. there was no mistaking it that time. very cool. 
mind you, if it continues to the stage where he only ever wants to be held by me then i can see that my joy at this event may wane just a tad.
