broken pump - 07:06 AM

i think i did break my milk pump the other day after all. i used it yesterday morning & it was fine, but this morning it stopped giving me control over the suction. it has a button to release the suction a bit which you use to mimic a baby's sucking action & when i pressed it it did what it should, but then the suction didn't increase again. i tried the dial which makes the suction increase or decrease & that's not working either. poo bum!

i have to have a milk pump. i have to express enough milk for riley for the three days of enjo training i have next week.

i wonder if it's still under warranty? even if it is, i'm going to have to get another one straight away because who knows how long it'll take to replace under warranty? i need one now. damn it. *hmmm*

Oooo, I know this dilemma. If you don't use formula at all, by choice or circumstance (as I don't), the pump is the most essential appliance in the house. Mine broke down a few weeks ago but FORTUNATELY, as it is a rental, I was able to take it back and swap it over the next day. Otherwise, plain reality was that I couldn't be apart from Alia for more than 4 hours. Thank goodness for her deep love of solids, especially MANGO MANGO MANGO *smile* , otherwise my window would have been 2.5 hrs! (Not that this is a bad thing generally, and it's only once a week I have to leave her for 8 hrs on my single day in the office, but mummies have to work / shop / play sometimes!!)
Good luck with obtaining a new one ... maybe you could just hire one until the warranty replacement comes thru? (If we lived in the same state you'd be welcome to borrow mine!)

Have you got a manual pump that you could use in the meantime? If you were a bit closer I'd give you mine! *smile*

Technically speaking (and afaik) it doesn't seem right, I would say 'bad make'. But anyhow I hope you get a new one today.
