mouli machine - 07:17 PM
i do so love something that's well designed & incredibly functional. jade gave me this little baby mouli machine thing (looks like this but my version is plastic with a big red handle) a while ago & i used it today for the first time. gee, it's good! it was easy to use, did the job it was meant to do & was even really easy to take apart to clean.
ahh, good design .. it's a wonderful thing.

hand mowing two acres - 03:21 PM
shroom just finished hand mowing two acres (that's just under a hectare). yes, that's right, he did the lot with a hand (petrol, that is, not push) mower. he did two passes, one on the high setting & then another one on the low setting with the catcher. i'm guessing here, since i wasn't keeping track, but i reckon it took about twelve days, doing perhaps five hours a day, to complete the lot & having to empty the catcher about every three feet, no jokes.
i'll give him ten points for stickability. i would have given up after half an hour.

i've put two previously published pictures of smiley (one from just yesterday) on the same photolog entry so you can see how much he's changed. i should try to get more pictures which are so similar, so that i can compare again as he gets older. see the two pictures here.
wood panelling - 09:42 AM
you know that horrible wood panelling, wood veneer, fake wood stuff which was so popular on everything in the 70's? did anyone ever actually think it looked even remotely like real, solid wood?
a gmail winner - 08:57 AM
looks like nbert98 was the winner of one of the highest selling gmail beta testing email accounts, paying US$137.50 for it. let's hope that for that much money he gets a better username than nbert98.
