road block - 12:32 PM

uh oh. i've hit a road block on my mission. my enjo kit is in the back of the car, which is with shroom at work. i can't clean the hard floors without it. i have the floorcleaner hardware (that is, the base & the stick) but i have to share the floor fibres with my working kit until i get my own.
no matter, i've picked up the toys & bags etc & i had a quick go with the carpet sweeper (on the hard floors as well) which picked up the biggish bits, so it looks marginally better.
i guess i'll move on to my desk.

when we went my uncle's fiftieth birthday party the other night, shroom had a seafood basket for dinner. on the plate, as there usually is, was a wedge of lemon. i like to give smiley a taste of most things, as i think that new experiences & tastes are good for a kid's development, so i put the wedge of lemon up to his mouth. i expected him to simply stick his tongue out, but he leant foward & gave it a good suck!
his reaction was priceless! his face screwed up tight & he gave a full body shudder. everyone who happened to be watching laughed out loud. the lemon was still near his mouth & despite his reaction, he went back for more! after another small suck (& the same reaction) i put it back on the plate, just in case it gave him an upset tummy.
it was pretty funny.

it's a record. smiley slept in until 8:15 this morning. he still woke up for feeds etc, but he wasn't ready to get up & start 'talking' & doing his thing until then. woo hoo!
