smiley just got terribly upset when i took shroom's address book off him. he'd found a business card & a bit of scrap paper with a name & phone number written on it inside the address book & had munched off the corner of the business card. (at least, i assume he did, because it was freshly gummy & i couldn't find the corner anywhere.)
he went all red in the face & started that big cry that begins with noise but fades out to nothing until they finally take another breath & do it again. big, fat tears squeezed out from the corners of his eyes.
it's intriguing how babies get so upset when something is taken from them. why is it so important to them (at the time) that they get so worked up about it? interesting. i wonder if anyone has done any studies on it.

he's standing up at shroom's desk, looking at me & grunting & snorting & puffing & huffing. he's not unhappy, he's just .. i don't know .. amusing himself, or something. he's such a funny kid. 
oh .. now he's added tongue clicking to the symphony.

smiley's just begun to be able to make a pincer grip with his thumb & pointer finger. the world is now his oyster! well, little tiny things which require a pincer grip are now his oysters, anyway. heh.

i hate it when we have a nap together & he stays asleep just long enough for me to begin feeling sleepy. he wakes up all bright eyed & bushy tailed & i'm ready to go to sleep!
