tasting things - 09:10 PM

smiley has routinely been putting things in his mouth for months now, but today he's been into tasting things that are too large to put in his mouth, as such, so he's been licking these things instead. just before he licked the wall & then the fridge. he's also been known to do a blowfish on the lounge room window that faces out to the porch. looks pretty damn funny if you happen to be outside viewing it from the porch.

i always assumed that kids were kind of fun, but i had no idea they were this amusing. *chuckle*

anyone in the melbourne area a deborah conway fan? want a signed cd & a live performance just for you & twenty-four other people? go to anthony malloy's site & let them know you'll buy a cd through them & you might just get an invite. not bad. pity i don't live in melbourne. i'd do it for sure, otherwise.

he stood up! - 11:09 AM

shroom just told me that smiley stood up on his own! without holding onto anything! just then!

i was facing the other way, so i missed it, but shroom was lying on the ground playing with smiley & he said that he stood up all on his own. didn't stay up for long, of course, but he did it! my clever boy. *smile*

free book - 09:35 AM

we host our websites with pair networks. i receive their newsletter, the insider, via email. in the may issue they offered a free book to those who were quick enough to say, "yes, please!" i was on the ball that day & now i have "HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables Using CSS" on it's way. yay!

everyone loves free stuff .. especially when it's about something i enjoy doing. thanks, pair! *smile*

very expensive pen - 09:04 AM

i found the google store the other day & saw a cool light-up pen so i decided to buy it. with international orders they email you after you've made the purchase to let you know shipping costs, etc. i figured it might cost at least the value of the pen to send it, but hey, it's something a bit unique, so i waited to receive the email.

i got that email this morning. there's a $25 processing fee for international orders included in the shipping, so it would cost $86.88 to send me a $5 pen. i don't think so.

even if i was buying a whole lot of things, that would be too much. i don't understand companies that insist on charging so damn much to send things internationally. can't they just go down to the post office?? ugh! that's the first time ever i've been dissatisfied with anything googley. at least they give you a chance to cancel the order. *grumble, grumble, grumble* *hmmm*
